Qualifications

• Previous experience operating cranes or heavy plant.
• Valid CPCS or NPORS qualification.
• Knowledge of lifting operations and site safety.
• Able to work in a team and communicate clearly.
• Commitment to safe working practices.
• Full UK driving licence is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Operate cranes and plant machinery safely and efficiently.
• Carry out lifting, loading, unloading and material handling.
• Conduct pre-use inspections and routine checks.
• Ensure lifting and plant operations follow site procedures and regulations.
• Collaborate with supervisors, banksmen, engineers and teams.
• Report defects and maintenance promptly.
• Complete daily records and documentation as required.
• Maintain high standards of health, safety and housekeeping.

About The Role

We are looking for a skilled and safety-conscious Crane Operator / Plant Operator to join our Specialist Plant team in Wellingborough. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a range of lifting equipment and heavy plant, supporting operations across a busy and dynamic environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of cranes and plant equipment, helping to ensure projects and operational activities are delivered to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate cranes and a variety of plant machinery safely and efficiently.
• Carry out lifting, loading, unloading and material handling activities.
• Conduct pre-use inspections and routine equipment checks.
• Ensure all lifting and plant operations are carried out in accordance with site procedures and industry regulations.
• Work closely with supervisors, banksmen, engineers and operational teams.
• Report defects, faults and maintenance requirements promptly.
• Complete daily records and operational documentation as required.
• Maintain high standards of health, safety and housekeeping.

Requirements

• Previous experience operating cranes, heavy plant or lifting equipment.
• Valid CPCS or NPORS qualification(s) relevant to the equipment operated.
• Good understanding of lifting operations and site safety requirements.
• Ability to work effectively within a team and communicate clearly with colleagues.
• Strong commitment to safe working practices.
• Full UK driving licence is advantageous.
