Joseph Gallagher Limited is seeking a skilled Plant Fitter to join our NRC division and maintain our crane fleet. You will perform inspections, diagnostics, and repairs to ensure peak performance and safety across our operations in the UK.

The ideal candidate holds an NVQ Level 3 in Plant Maintenance or equivalent, has proven Plant Fitter experience, and a valid UK driving licence. We offer development opportunities, a competitive salary, pension, and health insurance.

The Role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Plant Fitter to join our dynamic team. As a vital member of our maintenance department, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our fleet of plant operates at peak performance and adheres to the highest standards of safety and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct regular maintenance, inspections, and repairs on various types plant
• Diagnose faults and implement corrective measures.
• Perform routine checks and scheduled maintenance to prevent breakdowns and ensure longevity of equipment.
• Collaborate with the operations team to coordinate maintenance schedules and minimise downtime.
• Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies.
• Keep accurate records of work carried out and parts utilised.
• Provide technical support and advice to the team and clients when necessary.
• Participate in continuous training and development to keep up with industry standards and technological advancements.

Requirements

• Relevant qualifications such as an NVQ Level 3 in Plant Maintenance or equivalent (HGV Maintenance, Agricultural Maintenance)
• Proven experience as a Plant Fitter, Plant Mechanic, or similar role.
• Knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems preferred
• Familiarity with health and safety standards and a commitment to applying safety practices at all times.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• A valid UK driving licence.

Desirable

• CPCS Card Holder or equivalent.
• Experience with specific brands and models of cranes in our fleet.
• Welding and fabrication skills.
• Experience directly as a Plant Fitter either in the hire industry or within the Plant Department of a construction company is preferred.
