Job summary

Tata Steel in Corby is recruiting a Mechanical Craft Team Member to join the Weldon Road site. The role requires a time served Mechanical Engineering apprenticeship and 2+ years in a heavy industrial setting.

Expect rotating day shifts with weekend work and a probation period leading to enhanced pay. You will work with roll stands, tooling, and bearings, using induction heaters and presses, while following strict health & safety rules and SSOW.

Qualifications

• Time served Mechanical Engineering apprenticeship is required.
• 2+ years of experience in a Heavy Industrial environment preferred.
• Knowledge of bearing and gear fitting is essential.

Responsibilities

• Assist in roll stand refurbishment, keep mill equipment in working order.
• Assist tooling department with assigned duties.
• Strip down, inspect and rebuild roll stands.
