Tata Steel UK is seeking a skilled mechanical technician to repair and maintain overhead and jib cranes at the Corby site. You will work in a two-person team delivering mechanical breakdown support, planned maintenance, and inspections, predominantly for crane operations.
The role requires a practical apprenticeship (City and Guilds level) or proven fitting skills, with advantageous experience on FLTs, MEWPs, and overhead cranes, plus strong health and safety awareness.

The main purpose of this job is to repair and maintain the overhead and jib cranes at the Corby site. You will be part of a two-person team, performing mechanical breakdown support, planned maintenance and inspections across the site; predominantly focussing on engineering support to the crane operations.
This position is covered by FEP terms of employment and operates on a 15 shifts (Monday – Friday) pattern of work and therefore attracts a 15% shift allowance.
To be successful in this role you will need to have served a practical mechanical apprenticeship to a minimum of City and Guilds level or have a proven track record of practical fitting skills.
It would be advantageous if you have previous experience with FLT’s, MEWP’s and Overhead Cranes.
