Copleston High School, part of Oxlip Learning Partnership, is seeking a Cover Teacher to provide high-quality classroom cover across a range of subjects, supervise students completing work, and support independent study environments. The successful candidate will work with senior leaders and teaching staff to maintain high expectations, promote positive behaviour, monitor attendance and progress, and uphold safeguarding standards.

About the Role

The majority of cover provision at Copleston High School operates through a centralised model, with students undertaking independent learning within larger supervised study environments rather than being dispersed across multiple classrooms. Cover Teachers work collaboratively with Senior Leaders and teaching colleagues to support students, maintain high expectations and ensure a purposeful learning environment.

Alongside supervising independent learning, the successful candidate will provide classroom-based cover when required, delivering pre-planned lessons, supporting student progress and promoting positive behaviour across the school.

We Are Looking For Someone Who:

• Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
• Is an effective classroom practitioner with high expectations of student achievement and behaviour.
• Can quickly build positive relationships with students and staff.
• Has excellent organisational and communication skills.
• Is adaptable, resilient and able to work across a range of subject areas.
• Demonstrates a strong commitment to safeguarding and student wellbeing.
• Works collaboratively and contributes positively to the wider life of the school.
