Tradewind Recruitment is recruiting Cover Supervisors to work across secondary schools throughout Warrington.
We are looking for experienced Cover Supervisors, graduates, sports coaches and individuals with experience working with young people who are confident managing groups and interested in working within secondary education.
With opportunities ranging from flexible daily supply to longer-term placements, these roles are suitable for candidates seeking regular school-based work, a flexible schedule or valuable experience before progressing into teacher training.
You do not need to be a qualified teacher to become a Cover Supervisor.
As a Cover Supervisor, you'll supervise secondary school classes when their usual teacher is absent, ensuring pupils remain focused and complete the work provided.
Lessons will generally have been prepared in advance, so your main responsibility is to maintain a positive learning environment rather than plan and deliver your own curriculum.
We're particularly interested in candidates who have experience working with children or young people and can demonstrate confidence, resilience and strong communication skills.
Previous secondary school experience is desirable but not essential, provided you can demonstrate relevant experience and the ability to manage a classroom confidently.
Successful candidates will be adaptable, professional and comfortable establishing boundaries while building positive relationships with pupils.
Tradewind Recruitment works with secondary schools across Warrington and the surrounding area, offering opportunities to suit different availability and career goals.
These include daily supply, short-term absence cover, regular weekly work and longer-term Cover Supervisor placements.
Whether you're looking for occasional work alongside other commitments or a more consistent position within one school, we'd be keen to discuss your availability.
Working as a Cover Supervisor in Warrington can be an excellent first step towards teacher training.
You'll gain practical classroom experience, develop behaviour management skills and build an understanding of how secondary schools operate.
For graduates and aspiring teachers, this provides valuable experience before applying for a PGCE or other teacher training route.
