Job Title: Cover Supervisor
Salary: WPT Band 5 £28163 - £30060 (£22793 - £24329 pro-rata)
Hours: 34 hours per week, term time only
Contract Type: Permanent
Location: The Gainsborough Academy
To commence: As soon as possible

As a Cover Supervisor, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring continuity of learning in the absence of the classroom teacher across our 5 secondary schools. Your ability to deliver pre-prepared activities, manage classroom dynamics, and provide constructive feedback will contribute to the smooth running of the school day and the ongoing success of our students.

Key Responsibilities Include:

1. Delivering activities that have been prepared by the classroom teacher and supervising self-directed learning to ensure that learning is not disrupted by the teacher's absence, and the curriculum continues to be delivered successfully.
2. Setting up the classroom appropriately, ensuring the correct resources are available to deliver the learning activities efficiently, while giving consideration to health and safety guidelines.
3. Providing immediate, informal feedback to pupils to ensure that they continue to perform to a high standard, offering support and encouragement as needed.
4. Managing pupil behaviour and dealing with any immediate problems to ensure that learning activities run smoothly and pupil safety is maintained at all times.
5. Providing feedback and returning any completed work to the classroom teacher so that any further action or follow-up can be conducted promptly.
