Job summary

Weston College is seeking a Cover Supervisor to join its team at the Loxton Campus in Weston-super-Mare. This full-time, term-time only role runs 37 hours per week across 38 weeks per year.

You will supervise classes in the absence of regular staff, delivering pre-set work with minimal planning and ensuring learners stay engaged. Applicants should hold a degree-level qualification, possess excellent organisational skills, and demonstrate an empathetic, inclusive approach to learners.

Job description

Are you looking for a term-time only role? Do you have experience teaching at Level 2 or above? If so, our Cover Supervisor position might be the role for you!

Weston College is looking for a Cover Supervisor to join our team on a full-time, term-time only basis (37 hours per week, 38 weeks per year), based at our Loxton Campus in Weston-super-Mare.

As a Cover Supervisor, you will supervise classes in the absence of their usual teaching staff. You will be delivering pre-set work, which means there will be limited lesson planning or preparation involved in the role. Your main focus will be ensuring that all students remain engaged and focused on their work.

Due to the nature of the role, you will be working on a term-time only basis (38 weeks per year). During your non-working times, there are no expectations to complete any admin work such as preparation or marking, all aspects of the role will be undertaken during your 38 weeks per year.

If you are not required for cover, then you will provide 121, small group or in class support where needed.

To be successful in this role, you will need to be flexible and adaptable as it is highly unlikely that any two days will be the same!

You will also need to have a degree-level qualification, have excellent organisational skills and show an empathetic and inclusive approach to learners.

Interviews for this role will take place on-site, at one of our college campuses in Weston-super-Mare.
