Job summary

New Directions Group is seeking a committed Cover Supervisor for a full-time role at a Liverpool secondary school. You will oversee lessons during teacher absences, delivering pre-planned materials and maintaining pupil engagement to ensure continuity in learning.

The ideal candidate will have experience with young people, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage behaviour in a busy school setting. Training and development opportunities are available.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Confident managing groups of students and promoting positive behaviour.
• Able to remain calm and adaptable in a busy school environment.
• Previous school-based experience is desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Supervise classes during teacher absences and ensure pupils remain focused on learning objectives.
• Deliver pre-prepared lesson materials and instructions confidently.
• Maintain high standards of behaviour in line with school policies.
• Provide guidance and support to students as required during lessons.
• Report on student progress, behaviour, and engagement to teaching staff.
• Contribute positively to the wider school community.
