Job summary

TeacherActive Limited is recruiting for Cover Supervisors to support a network of secondary schools in Newport. The role involves supervising classes of pupils aged 11 to 16+ on a day-to-day, short-term and longer-term basis, with a focus on maintaining engagement and discipline without planning lessons.

Successful applicants will have CACHE Level 2/3 or 6 months of relevant experience, strong communication, and the ability to adapt to different departments and age ranges across the school day.

Qualifications

• Strong communication and classroom management skills.
• Ability to engage students aged 11–16+ in a supportive learning environment.
• Flexible to work across departments and with different age ranges daily.

Responsibilities

• Supervise classes on day-to-day, long-term, or permanent bookings.
• Support teachers with classroom management and behaviour.
• Follow school policies and safeguarding procedures.
