Job summary

Moorlands Primary School in Mount is seeking a dedicated supply teacher to cover short-term absence across the full primary age range (7-11). You will deliver pre-planned activities, supervise classes, and keep pupils engaged, safe and motivated.

Responsibilities

  • Support pupils' learning, wellbeing and development across the school.
  • Collaborate with teaching and support staff to achieve best outcomes.
  • Respond to issues during lessons following school procedures.

Job description

The successful candidate will supervise whole classes during the short-term absence of teachers, delivering pre-planned learning activities and ensuring that pupils remain engaged, safe and motivated in their learning.

The successful candidate will:
  • Have experience of working with primary-aged children.
  • Have excellent communication, literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Have strong behaviour management skills and be able to create a positive learning environment.
  • Be confident working across the full primary age range (mainly 7-11 years).
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents.
  • Be highly motivated, resourceful and committed to ensuring the highest possible standards of achievement, personal development and wellbeing for all pupils.
  • Have high expectations and an absolute belief in the potential of every child.
  • Work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Demonstrate enthusiasm, initiative and a commitment to continued professional development.
  • Be fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Main Duties
  • Supervise whole classes during the short-term absence of teachers, delivering pre-planned learning activities.
  • Manage pupil behaviour in line with school policies and procedures.
  • Provide accurate feedback to teachers regarding pupil engagement, progress and behaviour.
  • Support pupils' learning, wellbeing and personal development across the school.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching and support staff to ensure the best outcomes for all children.
  • Respond appropriately to any issues that arise during lessons, following school policies and procedures.
