Copleston High School is recruiting a Cover Supervisor to support teaching and learning when teachers are absent. The role operates within a centralised cover model, with students in supervised study environments and collaboration with SLT and colleagues to maintain a calm, purposeful learning atmosphere.

The successful candidate will supervise work, help run large-scale study sessions, promote positive behaviour, and contribute to safeguarding and student welfare.

Qualifications

• Has experience of working with young people, ideally within a school or learning environment.
• Can build positive relationships whilst maintaining high standards and expectations.
• Is confident, resilient and organised.
• Has strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Can work flexibly and collaboratively as part of a team.
• Is committed to supporting the success and wellbeing of all students.

Responsibilities

• Supervise students undertaking work set by their teachers.
• Support the effective operation of large-scale supervised study sessions and classroom-based cover where required.
• Promote positive behaviour, engagement and independent learning.
• Work collaboratively with Senior Leaders, teaching staff and pastoral teams.
• Maintain high expectations and contribute to a positive school culture.
• Support the welfare and safeguarding of students.
