Job summary

Ormiston Rivers Academy is seeking a Cover Supervisor to help learning continue when teachers are absent. The role is 32.5 hours per week, term time only, supervising whole classes, delivering teacher-set instructions, and maintaining focus and order to keep students engaged.

Responsibilities include supporting ICT use, providing feedback on conduct, keeping records, and assisting with lunchtime duties and wider cover across the school to foster a safe, inclusive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Educated to NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent qualification or experience).
• Excellent literacy and numeracy skills.
• ICT literate and able to use technology in learning environments.
• Strong communication skills and ability to build respectful relationships.
• Ability to implement behaviour management strategies effectively.

Responsibilities

• Supervise classes while teachers are absent.
• Deliver lesson instructions as set by teachers and keep students focused.
• Promote positive behaviour and address incidents according to academy policy.
• Provide feedback to teachers on lesson conduct and record-keeping.
• Support ICT use in lessons and assist with lunchtime duties.
• Contribute to broader cover across the school to create a safe learning environment.
