Job summary

Ormiston Bushfield Academy is seeking a Cover Supervisor to supervise students in a classroom setting when teachers are absent. The role does not involve teaching but requires ensuring calm, orderly learning and supporting staff across key stages.

Hours are Monday to Friday, 8:10am–3:30pm, term-time plus one additional week. Salary is pro-rata for part-time candidates, and training will be provided where needed.

Qualifications

• Experience in a school environment is advantageous, but training will be provided.
• Able to supervise groups of students with set work.
• Must relate well to young people and maintain a calm, orderly classroom.

Responsibilities

• Supervise students in a classroom when class teachers are absent; ensure learning continues.
• Work across departments as needed to support teaching and pupils.
• Assist with other duties in and around the academy during quiet periods or as required.
