Job description

Blessed Robert Sutton Catholic Voluntary Academy are seeking to appoint a Cover Supervisor to join our busy school. As our cover supervisor, you will be responsible for ensuring that students have a high-quality learning experience when their usual teacher is away from school.

You’ll create a purposeful, positive learning environment, guide students through pre-prepared work, and help them stay focused and engaged so their learning never misses a beat.

If you’re passionate about supporting young people, committed to helping them achieve their potential, and excited to be part of a warm, faith‑centred community, we’d love to hear from you.

This is your chance to take on a dynamic role leading lessons across KS3 and KS4, with occasional opportunities to work with KS5, and to contribute to the wider life of our welcoming Academy.

You will manage classroom behaviour to ensure pupils stay on task and facilitate the activities that have been designed by teaching staff to ensure that students complete the work in an effective learning environment.

This is a permanent role, working for 37 hours per week, term time only.

You Will:
  • Provide a high-quality customer focused management administrative service within the main school office
  • Supervise the students in KS3 and KS4 working on pre-set learning activities in the absence of a teacher.
  • Be caring and supportive and committed to achieving excellent results.
  • Have a belief that every young person, whatever their starting point or circumstances, can achieve exceptional things.
  • Promote the well-being of our student’s providing guidance and support and be able to inspire learning and progress.
  • Be resilient and determined, and confident in talking to large groups of young people.

In return, we can offer a supportive working environment, with access to regular high quality research-based CPD, excellent standards of behaviour, and a commitment to eliminating unnecessary workload.
