Job summary

TeacherActive is recruiting a Cover Supervisor in Bristol to start from September. You will deliver pre-planned lessons when the class teacher is absent and keep students engaged. Roles involve managing behaviour, guiding learners and creating a positive classroom environment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with secondary-aged students, ideally within a school or educational setting.

TeacherActive is proud to be working with supportive secondary schools across Bristol who are looking to appoint confident and enthusiastic Cover Supervisors. Working as a Cover Supervisor gives you the opportunity to experience different classrooms, subjects and year groups, while developing the practical skills, confidence and school‑based experience that can be invaluable when progressing towards a career in teaching.

The schools are looking for Cover Supervisors to work on a full‑time basis from September, delivering pre‑planned lessons in the absence of the class teacher and ensuring students remain engaged with their learning. You will manage classroom behaviour, provide guidance to students and create a positive learning environment, giving you valuable experience of leading a whole class and developing the skills schools look for in future teaching staff.

The successful Cover Supervisor will have:

• Previous experience working with secondary-aged students, ideally within a school or educational setting
