An established educational institution is seeking a Cover Supervisor to join their dedicated team. Due to internal promotion, we are excited to be looking for a Cover Supervisor to join our team, starting in the new academic year.
The successful candidate will have proven experience in front of a classroom and will join a professional, enthusiastic, and well-respected team of four.
The role of the Cover Supervisor is to supervise whole classes during short-term absence of teachers. They must ensure a safe and engaging working environment for classes whose teacher is absent, enabling all students to access and complete the work set by the teaching staff.
The post holder will be required to respond to pupils’ general questions but will not undertake planning, preparation, delivery, or assessment of pupils’ progress or development. You will also be expected to manage the behaviour of the class in accordance with the School’s behaviour policy. It is essential to work with students to maximize their learning and engagement during lessons.
When there are no lessons requiring cover, Cover Supervisors are expected to support teaching and learning across the school by undertaking various tasks, including but not limited to: assisting in lessons and enrichment activities, supervising registration, working in the library, supporting PHSE activities, assisting with school trips, and invigilating examinations.
