John Port Spencer Academy is seeking a proactive Cover Supervisor to join its team. You will support and supervise students in whole-class groups, delivering cover lessons across a variety of subjects and year groups while teachers are absent.

The role is suitable for both experienced candidates and those starting their journey in education, including ECTs seeking classroom confidence before their first teaching role.

The Role

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and dedicated Cover Supervisor to add to our team of Cover Supervisors working across the Academy. No two days will be the same as you will work with a variety of different years groups and across a range of subjects delivering cover lessons to students. This is a hugely rewarding role.

The primary purpose of the role is to support and supervise students in whole-class groups, providing them with an effective learning environment during short term teacher absences. We would welcome applications from both experienced candidates and those who may be beginning their journey in education. The role could be a good first step for an ECT who wishes to gain confidence and knowledge in the classroom before commencing their first teaching job.
