Job summary

St George’s Academy in England is seeking a dedicated Cover Supervisor to join the existing Cover team. The role involves supervising students and their work when a teacher is absent and supporting the learning environment throughout the school day.

The ideal candidate will motivate pupils, manage behaviour effectively and be keen to develop ICT skills including Excel, Word and PowerPoint. A minimum of 2 GCSEs including English and Maths is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 GCSEs including English and Maths, grade 9-4 (A*-C) or equivalent.
• Be able to work with pupils and manage behaviour.
• Willingness to train and develop skills.
• Previous education experience is an advantage but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Cover and supervise students and their work when a teacher is absent.
• Assist with classroom management and support teaching staff.
• Participate in training and adhere to the academy’s work ethos.

32.5 hours per week, 38 weeks per year (Usual working hours are 8:30 to 3:30, Monday to Friday)

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to join the existing Cover team within St George’s Academy.

The successful candidate will be required to cover and supervise students and their work when a teacher is absent.

The ideal candidate will:

• Be able to motivate and inspire pupils
• Have experience of working with children and managing behaviour
• Have good attention to detail
• Be keen to learn and develop their skills
• Have a flexible and committed to supporting the work ethos of the Academy
• Have a good level of ICT skills including knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point, mail merge and other ICT packages.
• Hold a minimum of 2 GCSE’s to include English and Maths from grade 9-4 (A*-C) or equivalent or be able to demonstrate a willingness to work towards achieving these qualifications.

Previous experience within education would be an advantage but is not essential, as full training will be provided.
