Job summary

Miltoncross Academy is seeking a dedicated Cover Supervisor to support learning when a class teacher is absent. You will supervise students as they complete work set by the teacher and help maintain a calm, orderly classroom.

Full induction and training will be provided, with opportunities to explore a future in teaching through School Centred Initial Teacher Training. This paid role welcomes applicants who enjoy working with children and helping them succeed.

Job description

We are seeking to grow our Cover Supervisor Team as we seem them as an integral part of how we deliver education to our students here at Miltoncross Academy. We are therefore looking for a Cover Supervisor to support the learning of students when their classroom teacher is absent. The role is a key role in maintaining consistency in the school when teachers are not available. You will be given the work set by the teacher and you will supervise students completing it. You will be given full training on methods of classroom management and you will be fully supported to undertake your role with skill and confidence. This post might be of particular interest to you if you are considering a career in teaching but would like to gain some paid invaluable experience. It might even be the case that this role leads you on to our School Centred Initial Teacher Training when you are ready. Equally, you may have no desire to become a teacher but you will need to enjoy being with children and teenagers and helping them to become successful in their studies and personal development. Experience of working with children and/or teenagers would be an advantage but is not essential as full induction and training will be given.
