Job summary

TeacherActive is seeking a Cover Supervisor to support secondary schools in the Gravesend area. You will confidently deliver pre‑planned lessons, manage classroom behaviour, and quickly build relationships with pupils across several subjects.

A Bachelor’s degree or subject specialism would be advantageous but is not essential. You will join a supportive consultant network and benefit from market‑leading pay, easy onboarding, and CPD opportunities.

Qualifications

Are you confident leading a classroom and keeping students engaged in the absence of the class teacher?

Are you looking for the flexibility of full‑time daily supply work across a variety of welcoming secondary schools?

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a range of secondary schools across the Gravesend area, including co‑educational schools, grammar schools and secondary academies. These schools all have strong local reputations for delivering high‑quality education and provide supportive environments where staff are valued and encouraged to make a positive impact.

The schools are looking to appoint a full‑time Cover Supervisor on a daily supply basis from September. The successful Cover Supervisor will confidently deliver pre‑planned lessons, manage classroom behaviour, encourage student engagement and quickly build positive relationships with pupils across a variety of subjects. A subject specialism supported by a Bachelor’s degree would be advantageous but is not essential.

Required Skills and Experience

• Previous experience working with young people in an education or youth work setting
• Experience supporting students within a classroom environment
• Excellent classroom management and behaviour management skills
• Confidence leading classes using pre‑set lesson plans
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build immediate rapport with students
• A Bachelor’s degree or subject specialism would be advantageous but is not essential
