GSL Education is seeking a Cover Supervisor to join a network of welcoming and well-structured secondary schools across East London. The role offers hands-on classroom experience in secondary education and the chance to develop strong behaviour management and leadership skills.

The position is offered as Full-Time / Part-Time with Long-Term / Short-Term / Supply contracts, with a daily pay rate of £90–£110 depending on experience and contract type.

Qualifications

• Confident graduate or experienced school support professional seeking classroom experience.
• Experience in secondary education settings preferred.
• Willing to adapt to various East London schools.

Responsibilities

• Supervising classes in the absence of the regular teacher, ensuring students engage with the provided lesson plans.
• Maintaining a positive, orderly classroom environment and managing student behaviour.
• Providing support to students during lessons and assisting with tasks as directed by teachers.
• Observing and reporting on student progress and behaviours to teachers.
• Assisting with lesson preparation and preparing classroom resources as needed.
• Occasionally administering tests or assessments and assisting with marking.
• Encouraging participation and supporting group activities in lessons.
• Liaising with teaching staff regarding daily lessons, student needs, and concerns.
• Supporting extracurricular activities and school events where needed.

• Assisting with Lesson Preparation:Prepare classroom resources and materials as needed, ensuring that the classroom is ready for learning before the lesson begins.
