You will supervise classes during teachers' absences, ensure pupils stay engaged with tasks, and follow school behaviour expectations. A DBS check and safeguarding knowledge are required.

Cover Supervisor - Lincoln

Location: Lincoln
Salary: £110-£130 per day, depending on experience

GSL Education is seeking confident, reliable, and enthusiastic Cover Supervisors to work in secondary schools across Lincoln. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with young people, has strong communication skills, and can help maintain a positive and productive learning environment.

As a Cover Supervisor, you will supervise classes during teachers' planned or unplanned absences, ensuring pupils remain engaged with the work provided and follow the school's behaviour expectations. You do not necessarily need to be a qualified teacher, making this a great opportunity for graduates, university students, and aspiring teachers looking to gain valuable classroom experience before pursuing a teaching career.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise classes and deliver pre-prepared learning activities in the teacher's absence.
• Ensure pupils understand the tasks set and remain focused on their work.
• Maintain classroom discipline and promote positive behaviour.
• Follow school policies and procedures, including behaviour and safeguarding guidelines.
• Support pupils with questions about their assigned work where appropriate.
• Report any concerns or incidents to the relevant teaching staff.
• Help create a respectful, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

• Strong communication and classroom management skills.
• Confidence when working with secondary school pupils.
• A calm, adaptable, and professional approach.
• The ability to build positive relationships with young people.
• Good organisational skills and the ability to follow lesson plans.
• Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable but not essential.
