Cover Supervisor
Hours: 30 hrs per week - 45.8 weeks per year
8.30am-3.30pm Monday to Friday, term time only.
Pay Scale: New Thurrock Local Government Scale, Band C, Point 15 plus SEN allowance (£22,504 actual)

Treetops Learning Community is excited to offer an opportunity for an experienced cover supervisor to join our team. The successful candidate will work across the Trust, in Treetops School and Treetops Free School.
In March 2025 Treetops School was judged by Ofsted to have maintained the standards identified at the previous inspection. The previous inspection was in February 2020, at which time Treetops was judged as Outstanding. Treetops Free School, which officially opened in September 2022, was judged Good in its first Ofsted inspection in March 2024.
Students throughout Treetops Learning Community have complex needs varying from moderate to severe learning difficulties, which may include; speech and communication difficulties, autism and global developmental delay.
To succeed as a Cover Supervisor you need to draw upon your own personality, people skills, and communication skills.
Ideally you will have:
Basic understanding of the national Key Stage Curriculum.
Knowledge of child development and learning.
Skills to self-evaluate your own learning needs.
Strong communication skills.
Ability to cover a wide range of lessons.
Confidence to manage a class of mixed ability pupils.
Ability to keep students focused and on task.
Ability to provide constructive feedback that encourages pupils' positive self-esteem.
Dedication to establishing positive relationships with pupils.
The ability to handle complex and sensitive issues with empathy and understanding.
Competence in using software such as Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
