Job description

A Secondary School in Exeter is currently looking for a Cover Supervisor to join them for flexible cover. The school would ideally like someone to start this term, for a full/part-time opportunity that runs from Monday to Friday, between 8.30-3.30. The specific days can vary, but there is consistent work available for the right candidate.

The school needs Cover Supervisors to oversee various classes across KS3 and KS4. While class work will typically be provided by the Class Teacher, a good understanding of most subjects would be beneficial.

Ideal candidates are flexible and willing to adapt to different classes. You must be confident in teaching across KS3 and KS4, and able to manage pre-planned lessons with ease. Teaching qualifications are not essential, but extensive experience in schools is preferred. A degree in a specific subject, such as Maths, would be advantageous.

What will you do as a Cover Supervisor?

• Supervise students actively, providing clear instructions and responding to queries
• Engage students in cover lessons through effective communication
• Manage behaviour in line with school policies, promoting positive conduct
• Demonstrate organisational and time management skills, and flexibility in a busy environment
• Support all students with strong Literacy, Numeracy, and communication skills
• Collaborate with staff to maximise student outcomes
• Report to teachers as required
