Job summary

Vision for Education in Dudley is seeking Cover Supervisors to support SEN schools by delivering pre-planned lessons and helping students stay engaged in learning.

You will work closely with school staff to maintain a calm, positive classroom and to implement safeguarding and health & safety policies while building supportive relationships with pupils, families, and colleagues.

This role offers valuable classroom experience and the chance to develop skills with a trusted education recruiter.

Qualifications

Key Responsibilities

Classroom Leadership

• Deliver pre-planned lessons in the absence of the regular teacher.
• Manage the classroom effectively, ensuring students remain engaged and focused on their learning.

Student Support

• Encourage and support students with a range of Special Educational Needs.
• Promote a positive, inclusive learning environment where every student can succeed.

Behaviour Management

• Use positive behaviour management strategies to maintain a safe and productive classroom.
• Respond confidently and professionally to a variety of classroom situations.

Policy Adherence

• Follow school policies, safeguarding procedures, and health and safety guidelines at all times.
• Ensure a structured and supportive environment for all students.

Effective Communication

• Work closely with teaching staff and school leaders, providing clear feedback on lessons and student progress.
• Build positive relationships with staff, students, and the wider school community.

About you

To be considered for theCover Supervisor role, you will:

• Have previous experience working with children and young people with a range of special educational needs, such as learning difficulties, autism and looked after children.
• Suitable qualifications such as Youth Work, Health and Social Care or Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools are desired but not essential.
• Have strong communications skills with the ability to quickly build rapport with students
• Able to obtain suitable references and a DBS check.
