Job summary

Saint Gregory's Catholic College is seeking a Cover Supervisor to take charge of whole classes during short-term teacher absences and to contribute to student support and administrative tasks within the student services team.

The role requires strong classroom management, experience with children and young people, and a flexible, team-oriented approach. Term-time permanent appointment with some INSET days and 32.5 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Applicants must possess a minimum of five GCSE passes at Grade C or equivalent including literacy and numeracy and have the ability to safely manage classroom activities and the physical learning space.
• Experience of individual or group work with children and young people, ideally within a school setting.
• Experience of individual work or group work with children, young people and families

Responsibilities

• Take charge of whole classes during the short-term absence of teachers.
• Provide learning support to students when not required for cover.
• Offer administration support to colleagues as part of the student support provision.

Contract type: Permanent, Term time only plus 2 INSET days

Hours: Monday - Friday, 32.5 hours per week

Salary: Grade 5 SCP 11-15, £29,070-£31,015 (full time, all year around), £21,644-£23,092 actual.

The successful candidates will possess the confidence and skills to take charge of whole classes during the short-term absence of teachers. When not required to provide cover the post-holder will also be part of our student support provision offering learning support to our students and administration support to colleagues. We are therefore looking for a rounded team-player, with a positive and flexible can-do attitude who is willing to take on a key role within our support team.

Applicants must possess a minimum of five GCSE passes at Grade C or equivalent including literacy and numeracy and have the ability to safely manage classroom activities and the physical learning space. It is essential that applicants have experience of individual or group work with children and young people, ideally within a school setting.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate:
