Job summary

Milk Education, in partnership with a welcoming secondary school in Barnet, is recruiting a confident and enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to join the support team and help maintain learning when teachers are absent.

As a Cover Supervisor, you will supervise classes across Key Stages 3 and 4, deliver pre-planned work, manage behaviour, and support students to stay engaged. The role offers flexible working opportunities and valuable classroom experience within a high-performing school.

Qualifications

• Enhanced DBS on Update Service or willing to obtain one
• Right to Work in the UK
• Two professional references covering the last two years
• Relevant experience working with children or young people

Responsibilities

Milk Education are working in partnership with a welcoming and high-performing secondary school in Barnet to recruit a confident and enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to join their support team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated Cover Supervisor who is passionate about education and enjoys working with young people in a classroom setting.

The successful Cover Supervisor will play a vital role in ensuring continuity of learning during teacher absences. As a Cover Supervisor, you will supervise classes across a range of subjects, deliver pre-set work and maintain a positive learning environment where students remain engaged and focused on their learning.

The Role:

• Working as a Cover Supervisor across Key Stages 3 and 4
• Delivering pre-planned lessons in the absence of teaching staff
• Managing classroom behaviour in line with school policies
• Ensuring students remain on task and complete the work set
• Providing support and guidance where appropriate
• Supervising students across a variety of curriculum subjects
• Reporting on lesson outcomes and student engagement to teaching staff
• Supporting the wider school community when required

The Ideal Candidate:

• Previous experience as a Cover Supervisor, Teacher Assistant, Learning Mentor, Behaviour Mentor or Youth Worker
• Experience working with secondary-aged students
• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• Confident presenting information to groups of students
• Flexible, organised and adaptable approach
• Passion for supporting young people and education
