Job summary

You will take charge of classes, follow prepared lesson plans and maintain high expectations to ensure learning continues when teachers are unavailable. Ideal candidates will have experience with secondary pupils, strong classroom management, adaptability across subjects and year groups, and a professional approach including safeguarding and punctuality.

This is a role suited to someone who can take charge of a classroom, follow prepared lesson plans and maintain high expectations while ensuring pupils continue with their learning.

The Role

As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for maintaining continuity of learning across different classes and subjects. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Taking responsibility for classes across a variety of subjects and year groups.

What we're looking for...

The successful candidate will ideally have previous experience working with secondary-aged pupils and be comfortable managing a classroom independently.

• Classroom confident - You can establish authority quickly while maintaining positive relationships with pupils.
• Adaptable - You are comfortable moving between different subjects, year groups and classroom situations throughout the day.
• Reliable and professional - You understand the importance of safeguarding, punctuality and representing the school positively.
• A formal teaching qualification is not required, although previous experience within a secondary school, education setting or similar environment is essential.
