Job summary

Roundswell Community Primary Academy is seeking a dedicated Cover Supervisor to join our school team. The role supports teaching, learning and pupil development by planning and delivering activities, preparing resources and monitoring progress.

The successful candidate will have GCSE English and Maths at grade 4 or equivalent, experience with children and strong communication skills. The post is permanent, part-time (30.5 hours/week, 39 weeks/year) with DBS disclosure required.

• Experience as a Teaching Assistant or Cover Supervisor delivering whole-class activities.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver learning activities to individuals, groups and whole classes.

• Lead small-group interventions and support delivery of literacy, numeracy and other curriculum strategies.

Salary: NJC Grade D: £27,709 - £29,542 FTE (This will be paid pro-rata to reflect hours and weeks worked)

Working pattern: This is a permanent position working 30.5 hours per week, 39 weeks per year (Monday to Friday)

Working under an agreed system of supervision, you will:

• Plan, prepare and deliver learning activities to individuals, groups and whole classes
• Support teachers by helping create an engaging learning environment and preparing resources
• Monitor, assess and record pupils' progress, providing detailed feedback and evidence
• Lead small-group interventions and support delivery of literacy, numeracy and other curriculum strategies
• Contribute to out-of-school learning activities as required

Essential qualities include:

• Experience working with children across key stages
• Experience as a Teaching Assistant or Cover Supervisor delivering whole-class activities
• English and Maths qualifications at GCSE grade 4 or equivalent
