A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join our client's well-regarded Court of Protection team. We are seeking a qualified solicitor or legal executive with significant experience in the Court of Protection to manage client matters while providing high levels of care and attention. This role is pivotal in ensuring the team's commitment to maintaining the highest professional standards of service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Draft applications to the Court of Protection for the appointment of deputies for property and affairs.
- Manage statutory will applications and gift applications.
- Prepare annual Office of the Public Guardian (OPG) accounts for clients.
- Liaise with investment managers and financial planners to ensure client needs are met.
- Organise the purchase of properties and facilitate necessary adaptations to suit the client's needs.
- Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and its application.
- Adhere to Professional Deputy Standards, ensuring compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements.
- Adjust your approach to suit the varying capacity levels of clients, providing personalised care and attention.
- Achieve both financial and non-financial objectives, contributing to the department’s overall goals.
- Maintain effective relationships with internal and external parties to ensure the smooth progress of client matters.
- Ensure that all matters are conducted in accordance with detailed procedures, quality standards, and best practice guidelines.
- Supervise and guide junior colleagues in their fee-earning work, providing mentorship and support.
- Participate in marketing activities at a firm-wide, departmental, or office level to enhance visibility and promote the team’s services.
- Maintain strong working relationships with external third parties, institutions, and organisations, ensuring effective communication and cooperation.
