Job summary

Essex County Council is seeking an Education Access Coordinator to support pupils unable to access education and to prevent exclusion. The role collaborates with schools, families and partners to secure appropriate educational provision across the county.

The post is fixed-term for 24 months, based in Basildon with occasional travel; it requires the right to work in the UK and includes a flexible office pattern with one in-person day per month as needed.

Qualifications

• Educated to RQF Level 3 (A Level) or equivalent by experience.
• Evidence of continuing professional development and expert knowledge in relevant professional area.
• Practical experience of working in the educational field and supporting young people to overcome anti social behaviours, working within a team.

Responsibilities

• Case management to discharge ECC responsibilities for Education other than at School.
• Collaborate with schools to offer alternative provision and reduce bullying/absences.
• Face-to-face work with families to secure suitable provision and mitigate risks of exclusion.
• Work with schools, providers and families to ensure support and positive outcomes.
• Monitor and review provision for value for money and effectiveness.
