Job summary

Countryside Classroom in Cannock Chase is seeking a proactive Countryside Officer to join the team managing the 1,300ha of heath and woodland. You will lead stewardship delivery, check safety for visitors, and coordinate remedial work with volunteers and contractors.

The role involves practical habitat management, applying health and safety and land-management law, and working outdoors in all weathers. No two days are the same, from removing hazardous trees to coordinating SSSI assent and

Responsibilities

• Lead stewardship delivery and oversee projects on Cannock Chase Country Park.
• Ensure site safety for visitors and complete remedial work as needed.
• Coordinate volunteers and contractors for tasks such as removing dangerous trees and managing contractor work.”
