Bristol Myers Squibb is seeking a Country Controller for Poland & Czechia, based in Chester, UK. You’ll own the financial close, ensure regulatory compliance, and partner with global finance teams to guide strategic decisions across two dynamic markets.

This senior role requires a global mindset, strong leadership, and experience in multinational finance. The position offers a hybrid work model, with travel to Poland and Czechia as required, and a path to executive-level influence.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in financial leadership within global/multinational environments.
• Professional qualification (CIMA, ACCA, CA, or CPA) with a Bachelor’s degree minimum; Master’s preferred.
• Pharmaceutical or life sciences industry experience is advantageous.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and regulatory compliance.
• Fluency in English; Polish and/or Czech is a plus to strengthen impact.
• SAP, Blackline and Workiva experience are a bonus.
• Leadership presence to engage with boards, regulators and global teams.
• Customer-first mindset with strong analytical capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end financial close across Poland and Czechia.
• Act as the compliance authority with internal controls and regulatory interactions.
• Drive strategic conversations on investments, risks, and local business strategy.
• Represent BMS at the highest level, including potential board engagement and regulator interactions.
• Connect local operations to the global finance framework through collaboration with Tax COE and Corporate Treasury.
