Job summary

The Best Connection are recruiting for a Warehouse Operative / Counterbalance Forklift Driver to work within a busy warehouse and yard environment in Bishop Auckland, United Kingdom. You will load and unload lorries, operate counterbalance forklifts and ensure pallets are stored correctly.

The role offers day shifts (08:00am–17:00pm Mon-Thu, 08:00am–16:30pm Fri), 42 hours per week, and pay at £14.13 per hour. The assignment runs for 2 weeks starting 9 September 2026.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid Counterbalance Forklift Truck licence.
• Previous experience as a Warehouse Operative / Counterbalance Forklift Driver is preferred.
• Hard-working, diligent and reliable.
• Good attention to detail with the ability to accurately check paperwork and stock.
• Able to follow instructions and work safely at all times.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload lorries and containers safely and efficiently.
• Operate counterbalance forklift trucks to move and store pallets and materials.
• Check delivery and transfer paperwork accurately.
• Follow instructions regarding correct storage and location of pallets and materials.
• Complete stock transfer sheets correctly and in a timely manner.
• Check stock regularly and report or correct discrepancies.
