Job summary

Quest Employment Ltd. is recruiting for an experienced Counterbalance FLT Driver to join our client in Wellingborough (NN8). The role involves safe loading and unloading of trailers, accurate documentation, and supporting general warehouse duties during the shift.

You will operate a Counterbalance FLT, load and unload trailers, and assist with picking/packing tasks. The position is a temporary to permanent opportunity with a morning shift and a pay rate of £13.50 per hour.

Qualifications

• Valid, in-date Counterbalance FLT licence.
• Experience operating Counterbalance FLT in a warehouse environment.
• Comfortable using tablets and handheld scanners for documentation.

Responsibilities

• Safely load customer collection vehicles and double-/triple-deck trailers.
• Maximise trailer space while ensuring safe loading and correct weight distribution.
• Process and photograph completed loads as part of documentation.

The Role

Quest Employment are currently recruiting for experienced Counterbalance FLT Drivers to join our client based in Wellingborough (NN8).

You will be responsible for the safe and efficient loading and unloading of trailers, ensuring accuracy, effective use of trailer space and full completion of digital documentation. The role also involves supporting the wider warehouse operation with manual duties, including picking and packing.

Key Responsibilities

Loading

• Safely load customer collection vehicles.
• Load double- and triple-deck trailers.
• Maximise trailer space while maintaining safe loading practices.
• Ensure correct weight distribution across loads.
• Scan loaded orders using tablets and handheld scanners.
• Photograph completed loads as part of the documentation process.

Unloading

• Safely unload supplier deliveries.
• Process customer returns accurately.
• Photograph and document unloaded deliveries.
• Identify and report damaged or non-compliant loads.
• Safely handle oversized and non-standard palletised loads, including loads up to 6 metres wide.

Skills & Attributes

• A valid, in-date Counterbalance FLT licence.
• Previous experience operating a Counterbalance FLT.
• Excellent spatial awareness and trailer-loading skills.
• A good understanding of load planning and weight distribution.
• Confidence handling oversized and unusual palletised freight.
• Experience using tablets and handheld scanners.
• The ability to follow digital documentation and photographic evidence procedures.
• A strong focus on safety, compliance and quality.
• The ability to remain calm, accurate and organised when working to tight trailer turnaround times.

Please note:
