Job summary

Adkins & Cheurfi Recruitment is recruiting for a Catering Assistant in the Barnard Castle area to join a busy catering team. This is a full-time temp-to-perm position with a stable pattern of hours.

The ideal candidate will have kitchen or catering experience, with a focus on cold food preparation, and be reliable and able to work well in a team. The role offers weekly pay and holiday pay, with uniform/workwear requirements and a genuine progression from temporary to permanent employment.

• Assist with food preparation, including cold dishes and ingredient prep.
• Support the kitchen team with daily catering duties.

• Maintain a clean, tidy, and safe kitchen.

Adkins & Cheurfi are currently recruiting for a Catering Assistant to join a busy catering team in the Barnard Castle area. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking for a full-time temp-to-perm position with a stable working pattern.

The ideal candidate will have previous kitchen or catering experience, particularly cold food preparation, and will be reliable, hardworking and comfortable working as part of a team.

The Role / Responsibilities

• Assist with food preparation, including cold food and ingredient preparation
• Support the wider kitchen team with day-to-day catering duties
• Assist with serving meals and maintaining presentation standards
• Clean and sanitise kitchen equipment and work areas
• Maintain a clean, tidy and safe kitchen environment
• Follow food hygiene and health & safety procedures
• Work efficiently within a busy catering environment

The Candidate

• Previous kitchen or catering experience is essential
• Proven cold food preparation experience
• Must be able to commit to full-time hours
• Looking specifically for a temp-to-perm opportunity
• Must be reliable, punctual and have a strong work ethic
• Good communication skills and the ability to work well within a team
• Basic knowledge of food hygiene and kitchen safety
• Able to work at pace and manage multiple tasks
• Must have appropriate workwear: long-sleeved black shirt, black trousers and black safety shoes

Hours

• Monday-Thursday: 10:30am-6:30pm
• Friday: 8:00am-3:30pm
