Job summary

Executive Network Legal Ltd. in Bristol is seeking a Costs Draftsperson to produce detailed Bills of Costs for high-value matters, across inter partes, legal aid, and solicitor–client cases.

You will examine case files, extract required information, and work closely with fee earners to ensure precise cost documentation. Qualifications

• Proven experience drafting Bills of Costs for high-value complex cases.
• Strong knowledge of the Civil Procedure Rules.
• Familiarity with costs budgeting and costs management processes.
• Proficiency in costs drafting software.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Produce detailed Bills of Costs for formal assessment across inter partes, legal aid, and solicitor–client matters.
• Compile Schedules of Costs to support summary assessment applications.
• Examine and evaluate case files to identify information for accurate cost drafting.
• Collaborate with fee earners to confirm case details and ensure complete documentation.
• Draft and respond to Points of Dispute and Replies when required.
• Monitor developments in costs law, CPR, and relevant case law.
• Assist with preparation of matters for costs hearings and detailed assessments.
