Job summary

Working with procurement, production, technical and commercial teams, you will build a prioritized cost-out pipeline, challenge designs, and track savings to improve margin and customer value.

Qualifications

• Relevant mechanical engineering degree.
• Hands-on manufacturing/engineering experience with measurable cost or performance improvements.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and commercial awareness.
• Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills.
• Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement experience.
• Experience with suppliers, procurement and design-to-cost initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Lead product cost-out programme with prioritized pipeline.
• Review products for simplification, standardisation and component reduction.
• Challenge designs and materials from cost and manufacturability perspectives.
• Develop and manage project plans with milestones and benefits.
• Track savings and report progress and risks.
• Collaborate with procurement and suppliers on cost-reduction opportunities.
• Improve product margin through design and sourcing changes.
• Validate new designs to ensure manufacturability and fit for purpose.
