Job summary

HS2 Ltd in Birmingham seeks a Cost Manager to support the Head of Cost and Estimating on a major railway programme. You will help manage budgets, track actual costs, and produce forecasts and Earned Value Management metrics for reporting and governance.

Qualifications

• Experience in cost management or project control within a major project.
• Experience in the core project controls functions, including baseline maintenance, schedule management, cost performance, change management, risk management, performance reporting and document control.
• Experience in managing and producing performance reports that summarise cost performance, including: Budgets, Earned Value Management (EVM) and forecasts on major projects.
• Experienced in the management and use of core cost management systems (e.g. Prism, Ecosys, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Support the Head of Cost and Estimating at a Programme and Contract level.
• Assist with the management of budgets, actual costs, forecasts and Earned Value Management (EVM).
• Help develop contract level performance reports to communicate current performance, including EVM, forecasted costs and EAC pressures.
• Ensure cost performance team alignment to current governance processes and store data within corporate systems.
• Provide technical support to Project Controls Managers on cost performance and assist in managing contractor teams.
• Collaborate with the supply chain to enhance cost performance capabilities and capture lessons learnt.
