We are currently seeking a Cost Manager / Cost Consultant with commercial awareness to join our UK Water teams. As a Cost Consultant, you will work as part of the Cost & Commercial Management team where you'll be involved in a wide range of projects from global and high profile to small and impactful, ensuring they’re delivered on time and to budget. Your expertise in planning, estimating, budgeting, and managing costs will drive growth and smarter working.

This role sits within our Resilience Global Business Area. We work to protect our natural environment and water resources, while powering our world for future generations. Addressing challenges like climate change, urbanization, and biodiversity loss, we aim to mitigate large-scale events such as floods and wildfires.

Please note, due to client requirements, travel to the East Sussex or Hampshire area 1-2 times per week is required.

  • Supporting the NEC Project Manager to administer the post-contract administration of NEC contracts, including assessment of contractual change and payments.
  • Supporting suppliers in providing accurate and validated information for project cost and financial forecasts.
  • Providing commercial support, advice, and guidance throughout all project gateways to minimize cost and scope changes.
  • Offering contract support, advice, and guidance.
  • Supporting procurement processes.
  • Closing out final accounts for projects ranging from £k to £15m in value.
  • Participating in risk and value management meetings as required.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • In-depth technical knowledge of construction processes, cost, and commercial management within a consultancy setting.
  • Good NEC Contract experience, especially in the infrastructure sector.
  • Ability to support the internal team and manage junior staff on projects typically between £k and £15m.
  • Strong self-management and prioritization skills, with the ability to work under pressure.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including stakeholder influence.
  • Pre and post-contract experience.
  • Capability to manage projects from inception to completion.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
