Job summary

Scantec is recruiting on behalf of a growing infrastructure consultancy to appoint a Cost Manager to support the delivery of a major water infrastructure programme in the Midlands. The role covers cost planning, reporting, budgeting and change control across multiple projects, with NEC3/NEC4 contract administration feature.

Cost Manager - Major Water Infrastructure Programme

Location: Tamworth (Hybrid - 4 days on site)

Salary: £60,000-£80,000 + Benefits

I'm currently recruiting on behalf of a growing infrastructure consultancy who are looking to appoint aCost Manager to support the delivery of a major water infrastructure programme in the Midlands. Our client is a specialist programme delivery and advisory consultancy. They deliver strategic PMO, planning and controls, and digital transformation services, supporting the delivery of complex, high-value programmes.

This is an opportunity to join a business that works across some of the UK's largest infrastructure projects, embedding experienced professionals into client teams to provide commercial, project controls and programme management expertise. With a strong pipeline of long-term work and continued growth, they offer stability, career progression and exposure to complex capital programmes.

The Role

Working closely with the client and project delivery teams, you'll be responsible for providing commercial and cost management support across a portfolio of infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cost planning, reporting and forecasting.
  • Managing project budgets and cashflow.

  • Supporting NEC3/NEC4 contract administration.

What We're Looking For
  • Experience as a Cost Manager, Quantity Surveyor or Commercial Manager.
  • Strong understanding of NEC3/NEC4 contracts.
  • Infrastructure experience is essential, with water sector experience beneficial but not essential.
  • Comfortable working in a client-facing environment.
  • Strong commercial awareness and stakeholder management skills.
