Job summary

Jones Lang LaSalle Incorporated (JLL) in Birmingham is seeking a Cost Manager to join our expanding Midlands team. You’ll deliver cost plans, tender documentation, and budgets across a varied project portfolio, reporting to the Midlands Regional Cost Management Lead.

You will work with project managers, designers and building consultants, using AI-enhanced tools to support reporting and data-led insights while developing your MRICS qualification and progressing toward senior roles.

Qualifications

• Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or a related discipline.
• Working towards MRICS (or equivalent), with a clear intent to pursue chartership.
• Some post-qualification experience in cost management, ideally across a range of sectors.

Responsibilities

• Prepare cost plans, tender documentation and project budgets from feasibility through to post-contract stages.
• Support procurement activity across single-stage and two-stage tendering, under traditional and Design & Build routes.
• Monitor and report on cost performance; flag risks and variances early.
• Assist with value engineering and risk management under guidance of senior colleagues.
• Collaborate with project managers, building consultants and design teams to support delivery.
• Manage own workload across multiple projects with accuracy and client service standards.
• Use digital and AI-enhanced cost management tools to support reporting and data-led insights.
• Contribute to JLL's reputation for technical excellence in the Midlands.
