Job summary

Jones Lang LaSalle Incorporated is seeking a Senior Building Surveyor/Associate in Birmingham to join our Building Consultancy team. You will conduct surveys, prepare technical reports, and manage dilapidations across high-value commercial portfolios.

You'll develop repair specifications, lead negotiation activities, and implement preventative maintenance strategies. A MRICS qualification with 3–5+ years PQE is preferred, along with strong client management and report-writing skills.

Qualifications

• MRICS qualification in Building Surveying; 3–5+ years PQE in commercial consultancy.
• Strong capability in dilapidations, surveys and contract administration.
• Excellent report writing and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive building surveys and prepare detailed technical reports for high-value commercial portfolios.
• Develop specifications and administer repair and refurbishment contracts (£500k+ values).
• Lead dilapidations negotiations and prepare strategic exit plans for major occupiers.
• Create planned preventative maintenance strategies to optimise asset performance.
• Perform building reinstatement cost assessments across retail, office, industrial and logistics sectors.
• Coordinate complex portfolio instructions across multiple property types and travel regionally.
