Job summary

Rubicon Consulting is currently recruiting for a Cost Controller on a 6 month contract, based in Middlesbrough. This role falls INSIDE IR35 and will support Project/Package Management with the management and control of contract costs, ensuring contracts stay within budget and meet quality standards.

Qualifications

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Meticulous attention to detail, ensuring accuracy within reporting.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of construction methods and materials.
• Understanding of construction contracts and legal matters.
• Capacity to prioritise work and interface with relevant stakeholders for the collection of information.
• Influencing skills, intercultural skills, capable of working in a team or individually.
• A relevant degree or qualification in cost control or a related field.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office

Responsibilities

• Estimating quantities and costs of materials, labour, and time.
• Developing cost plans and budgets.
• Monitoring costs and identifying potential cost overruns, including the tracking of variations/changes to the contract that may affect costs.
• Advising on cost-cutting measures and value engineering.
• Analysing repair/maintenance or re-work costs.
• Understand the implications of health and safety regulations.
