Job summary

Scottish Power Renewables seeks a Cost Controller for the EA2 project, based in London or Glasgow with hybrid working. The role supports implementing business standards for cost control and budgeting across the project.

You will work with Package Managers, Budget Holders, and the Cost Control team to monitor spend, prepare estimates, and ensure timely month-end reporting. UK-wide experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate in Engineering, Business Management degree or equivalent qualifications.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to influence at various levels of an organisation.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the project budget across different areas to control spend.
• Liaise with Package Managers/Budget Holders to prepare monthly Best Estimate.
• Collaborate with Cost Control, Planning and Risk teams to track issues and progress.
• Support creation and maintenance of the project budget and SAP availability.
• Assist in invoicing and payment procedures, including blocking/unblocking invoices.
• Coordinate month-end Value of Work Done and verify completions.
• Provide ad-hoc cost control support to the project as needed.
• Monitor open POs and manage PO roll-overs and closures.
• Manage extraordinary payment requests.

Full time, Mon - Fri

Inside IR35, Umbrella and PAYE options available

Main Purpose of Job

Providing support to the Project in the implementation of the Business standards for cost control management.

Key Tasks

• Monitoring the project in its different areas to control the allocated budget
• Liaising with ‘Package Managers/Budget Holder’ to prepare monthly Best Estimate
• Working with the rest of the Cost Control team, Planning and Risk Manager to understand project issues and monitor their progress.
• Providing support in the creation and maintenance of the project budget and SAP availability.
• Supporting & maintaining the invoicing & payment procedure, including blocking/unblocking invoices.
• Coordinating and verifying the completion of the month-end Value of Work Done.
• Providing ad-hoc ‘cost control’ support to the Project.
• Monitoring open POs and closing PO´s when needed. Annual roll over of POs.
• Managing extraordinary payment requests.

Key Criteria

• Knowledge of IT applications (SAP, Microsoft Office, Document Management Systems).
• Knowledge of Cost Control for large EPC projects.
• Graduate in Engineering, Business Management degree or equivalent qualifications.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to influence at various levels of an organisation.
• Fluent in English (written and spoken).
• Experience in Offshore wind projects.
• Experience of working with multi-disciplinary teams.
