Job summary

Morson Edge is seeking a SCADA Engineer for Scottish Power Renewables, based in London or Glasgow, on a hybrid working arrangement. The contract runs to 2027 with potential extension.

You will review SCADA and telecom documents, manage project SCADA requirements, and coordinate suppliers to ensure delivery aligns with the Employer's Requirements. Offshore tickets may be required.

Experience with IEC 60870-5-104, Modbus, OPC and industrial networks in windfarm systems is essential.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical/Control/Computing (Engineering) or equivalent.
• Experience with SCADA systems and IEC 60870-5-104 / Modbus / OPC protocols.
• Knowledge of industrial networks and databases related to SCADA.
• Offshore tickets/certificates (offshore work).

Responsibilities

• Review supplier SCADA and telecom documents (WTG, Substation Control Systems, Auxilliary Systems).
• Review internal project docs with SCADA and telecom requirements.
• Manage project SCADA and telecom requirements.
• Create and update test schedules and reports.
• Coordinate suppliers and contractors to align with programme and Employer's Requirements.
• Attend factory acceptance tests, interoperability tests, site acceptance tests, onshore and offshore commissioning.

Expectations

• - Reviewing SCADA and telecommunication documents from suppliers (i.e. WTG, Substation Control Systems, Auxilliary Systems)
• - Reviewing internal project documentation with SCADA & telecommunications requirements
• - Managing project SCADA and telecommunication requirements
• - Creating, maintaining and updating documents such as test schedules and reports
• - Management of suppliers and contractors to ensure SCADA and telecommunications programme and technical delivery is aligned with overall project programme and Employer's Requirements
• - Attending factory acceptance tests, interoperability tests, site acceptance tests, onshore commissioning and offshore commissioning

Requirements

• - Degree in Electrical/Control/Computing (Engineering) or equivalent.
• - Experience of SCADA systems and industry standard data exchange protocols such as IEC 60807-5-104 / Modbus /OPC is essential experience of these protocols within windfarm systems is desired.
• - Knowledge of industrial network and database applications related to SCADA is essential.
• - Short periods of Offshore working will likely be required so relevant offshore tickets/certificates are required.
