Job summary

Notting Hill Genesis is seeking an experienced cost assurance and quantity surveying professional to lead our independent cost assurance service across Engineering Services. You will ensure contractor pricing, variations, valuations and final accounts are thoroughly reviewed with evidence, while owning our Schedule of Rates (SoR) and maintaining data integrity.

You will lead a specialist team, fostering high performance and clear direction.

Qualifications

• A Level 5 qualification, or equivalent, in quantity surveying, construction or commercial management.
• Experience in housing, construction, facilities or a similar regulated environment.
• Strong knowledge of measurement, cost management, variations, final accounts and benchmarking.
• Experience developing or working with a Schedule of Rates or similar pricing framework.
• Understanding of construction processes, commercial practices, contract structures, pricing models and cost-control mechanisms.
• Strong leadership and people management skills.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills to assess costs, identify discrepancies and make informed judgements.
• Ability to provide robust challenge with evidence to risks and inefficiencies.
• Strong communication and influencing skills across teams and stakeholders.
• Intermediate IT skills, including Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Lead independent cost assurance across Engineering Services with robust challenge of contractor pricing, variations and final accounts.
• Own and maintain the Schedule of Rates to ensure a controlled, benchmarked pricing basis.
• Governance, integrity and version control of the Schedule of Rates (SoR).
• Lead and develop the SoR Coordinator team with clear expectations and performance management.
• Plan, prioritise and deliver cost assurance activities to a high standard.
• Identify discrepancies, pricing anomalies and cost risks in contractor submissions.
• Ensure pricing reflects specification, quality and scope to support value for money.
• Develop robust valuation and variation processes with auditable cost assurance records.
• Collaborate with Compliance, Procurement and Engineering to provide independent cost insight.
