Butler Rose is supporting a Plymouth-based manufacturer to recruit a Cost Accountant. You will help cost products and components, support profitability and inventory management, and work with production, procurement and engineering teams to influence commercial outcomes.

The role offers exposure to senior operational stakeholders and opportunities to develop manufacturing accounting expertise within a complex environment. A competitive package is on offer.

Qualifications

• Experience costing within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to communicate financial information to non-finance stakeholders.

• Proactive, self-motivated and commercially aware.
• Advanced Excel and IT proficiency.
• Pursuing or wishing to progress a professional accounting qualification.

Responsabilités

• Review and maintain product and component costing data.
• Partner with Production, Procurement and Design teams to determine true costs.
• Develop and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs).
• Analyse inventory, work-in-progress and stock reconciliations.
• Support cost-saving initiatives and improve gross margins.

Butler Rose is delighted to be supporting a leading Plymouth based manufacturer in the recruitment of a Cost Accountant. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established and highly respected business operating within a complex manufacturing environment.

Working as part of the finance team, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring products and component parts are accurately costed, supporting profitability, inventory management and operational decision-making across the business. This position offers significant exposure to production, procurement, supply chain and engineering teams, making it an ideal role for an ambitious finance professional looking to further develop their manufacturing accounting expertise.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and maintain product and component costing data to ensure accuracy.
• Partner with Production, Procurement and Design teams to determine true manufacturing costs.
• Develop and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) to improve costing accuracy and support planning processes.
• Analyse inventory, work-in-progress and stock reconciliations, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
• Support cost-saving initiatives and provide insight to enhance gross margins.
• Contribute to business improvement projects and continuous process enhancements.

About You

• Previous costing experience within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and communicate financial information to non-finance stakeholders.
• Confident working cross-functionally and influencing colleagues at all levels.
• Proactive, self-motivated and commercially aware.
• Advanced Excel skills and strong IT capability.
• Studying towards, or keen to progress, a professional accounting qualification.
