Job summary

Tpf Recruitment supports a Kent-based firm of chartered accountants recruiting a Corporate Tax Manager to join a successful tax team. You will handle advisory work, including M&A and EIS, and oversee compliance for a mixed client base across Kent and the South East.

Applicants should have corporate tax expertise in an accountancy environment, with ACA/ACCA/ATT/CTA/STEP qualification or equivalent by experience, and a track record in advisory planning and staff supervision.

Qualifications

• Experience in corporate tax advisory within an accounting firm
• Background in advisory/planning tax for owner-managed businesses
• Experience across small to Top Tier firms with progression potential

Responsibilities

• Assisting with tax advisory work including EIS and share schemes
• Helping with mergers, acquisitions, reorganisations and tax due diligence
• Preparation of R&D tax relief claims
• Preparing corporation tax computations and returns for larger, more complex companies/groups
• Overseeing and reviewing basic corporation tax compliance to meet deadlines
• Supervision of junior staff

Job description

Based in Faversham, Kent, we're supporting a highly respected, well established and fast growing firm of chartered accountants who are recruiting for a Corporate Tax Manager to join their experienced and very successful tax team.

You will work across both reviewing compliance and providing advisory services to a mixed portfolio of owner managed businesses across Kent, and the South East. A large proportion of the position can be moulded around the right candidates but your primary responsibilities will be to:

• Assisting with tax advisory work including EIS and share schemes
  
• Helping with Mergers, acquisitions, reorganisations and tax due diligence
  
• Preparation of R&D tax relief claims
  
• Preparing corporation tax computations and returns for larger, more complex companies/groups
  
• Overseeing and reviewing the more basic corporation tax compliance function to ensure deadlines are met
  
• Supervision of more junior members of staff
  

Requirements

• You will be any of ACA/ACCA/ATT/CTA/ STEP qualified, or qualified by experience with a career background in corporate tax or with a mixed tax background.
  
• You will have advisory/planning tax experience, gained within an accounting firm, or tax boutique firm of any size.
  
• Your background will have been developed within a firm of any size environment from small independent through to Top Tier firm background and you will be looking for a career move offering development and progression potential.
  
• £55,000 - £70,000 dependent on experience and background, negotiable.

Requirements

• Previous corporate tax experience gained within UK Accountancy Practice ATT / CTA / ACCA or ACA qualified or studying
• Experience with specific tax software advantageous
• Strong corporate awareness and relationship building skills
• Highly organised with strong attention to detail
• Ability to manage and multitask workload effectively
